Joe Maxwell and Navkiran Natt discuss parallels between the struggles of farmers in the US and India.
Joe Maxwell is an American attorney who served as the 45th Lieutenant Governor of the state of Missouri. He is a Democrat who also served in the Missouri House of Representatives and the Missouri Senate. His organization, Family Farm Action Alliance, is working to build a sustainable, inclusive food system and economy in which everyone has the right to share in the prosperity they help build and that respects our land, natural resources, and neighbors around the world.
Navkiran Natt is a youth activist reporting from the ground of the Farmers Protests at the Delhi border. Trained in dentistry, she made a career switch to study films and work as an independent journalist, writing in Punjabi. Natt runs the ‘Bhagat Singh Library’ at the protest site and produces the ‘Trolley Times’, a newspaper born out of the movement in December 2020 and founded by and for the farmers.
